Congratulations to our Executive Chef Dean Williams

We are very pleased to announce that our Executive Chef, Dean Williams, took out the Club Chef’s and Cook’s Challenge award on Saturday 29th June at Crown Perth.  

The 2019 Clubs WA industry Awards for Excellence took place at Crown Perth and Dean graciously accepted the Award, the winner out of the 11 finalists.  The Club Chef & Cook Challenge aims to represent the diversity of club kitchen staff, with entry open to qualified chefs, sous chefs, cooks or volunteer kitchen staff. 

The Challenge took place back at the end of March where Dean and all of the other entrants were presented with a mystery box – identical boxes of ingredients with time restrictions and no exceptions.  The box contained various ingredients with the brief being to make a Burger and a further dish of your choice, utilizing all of the ingredients and all or some of the “bonus points” ingredients that included jaffas, two minute noodles and coco pops.  At the end of the day, Dean’s burger was voted to be the most creative and tastiest Burger by the High School Hospitality students present with the last component of the challenge voted by the lecturers & judges present, which was the announcement at the awards night.  Dean created a Thai Chicken Salad with the remainder of the ingredients, utilizing the “bonus point” two minute noodles .  The 2nd part of awards process was the TAFE lecturers present voting on the overall process and this was announced and awarded to Dean on Saturday night.

Congratulations to Dean from all of us and we are sure you will all agree, he is a great Chef with a fabulous team working with him and we are lucky to have them.
