One of the club’s major events took place over the weekend – The Lake Cup. Fine weather conditions provided perfect playing conditions, and none enjoyed it more than Alan Rule, the overall winner of the event with a 36 hole score of 142. Alan had a great round on Saturday with a nett score of 70 and followed that up with a very solid nett 72 on Sunday. Close behind Alan as the runner -up was James Panos with a two round total of 144. Mitch Artus was the Best Rd 1 Nett winner on a countback with 69 points and Lindsay Stagoll Best Rd 2 Nett winner also with 69. The Lake Cup also forms the qualifiers for the 2019 Club Championships with Mathew Bowra the top gross qualifier with 147 (73,74). Other notable winners were Josh Hewton the Junior Champion on a gross score of 161, and the Senior winners were Mike Lekias 154 gross and Colin Lawrance 144 Nett.
Further congratulations to Peter Whittaker who is the 2019 North Course Club Champion an event reduced to 36 Holes of Stroke this year. Pete had a fabulous day out on the Saturday with a gross score of 68, followed up by a 75 on the Sunday. He was the overall Club Champion for 2019 with Barry Joyce taking out the best nett with 123. Well done to all of those members who took part in the North Course Club Championships for 2019.
