The 36 hole foursomes event was held on Sunday, 28 October. The day started for the 54 competitors with the traditional “goon juice” breakfast before players embarked on round 1. A brief thunderstorm resulted in the lunch break being extended slightly before the skies cleared and the second round was played in near perfect conditions.
The Championship was won by the pairing of Nigel Goodall and Kevin Prindiville who compiled the impressive 36 hole gross total of 152. Runners up were John Wallace and Peter Robinson on 157. The Handicap winners were Rob Gavin and Geoff Piper with a 36 hole Nett total of 148, winning from Con Barron and Rick Malone on 151.
