2021 Men’s Winter Cup

On Sunday 19th July the 2021 Winter Cup was played over 36 holes in rather wintery conditions, with the odd bit of sunshine, quite a bit of rain and as a consequence, some picturesque rainbows.

With an excellent AM round score of +4, Wayne Scully took out the 2021 Winter Cup, finishing with +4 (+4, 0).  Congratulations Wayne.

After the completion of the afternoon round with a +3, two-time winner Gavin Steinberg was the lucky recipient of the Runners Up prize in the Winter Cup.  The best AM score went to Benjamin Robertson who had a great round with +5 with Ian Dorrington taking out the best PM round on a countback with a +2.  Wayne Scully also took out the 36 hole best gross winner with 10 over the par of the course (-10).

Nearest to Pins were won by David Blacker(5th), John Wallace (8th), Brendon Cole (12th) and Ashley Walker (17th).

There was one further achievement that is unique to the Winter Cup, “The Oscar”. This prestigious award is presented to the individual that tried their hardest over the 36 Holes but unfortunately found themselves at the bottom of the leader board. This year, the Oscar went to John Bandy on a score which we will keep quiet!
