Health of Members and Staff – COVID-19

Part of our role in providing the governance structures in managing the club’s affairs is to ensure a safe workplace for our staff and a safe environment for our members.

The last 18 months, with the outbreak of Covid-19, has seen some temporary closures and the reduced ability to enjoy our facilities although, in the main, we have been very fortunate compared to those in other parts of Australia and other countries. Unfortunately, we are now seeing significantly increased infectiousness of the Delta variant of Covid-19 and its impact in terms of hospitalisations of people of all ages, but especially the elderly.

It appears there is a strong likelihood that, at some time, there will be an outbreak in WA and we need to mitigate the risks, where possible, to all our staff and members.

We therefore wish to re-enforce the messages of the health experts and request that any members or their guests who are feeling unwell or are showing symptoms of colds or the flu, please stay home. We also recommend that all staff and members get vaccinated, if they have not already done so.

Whilst we may hope that no-one at our club ever catches Covid-19, we must do all we can to mitigate such a risk and hope that you will all do your part by following the State and Commonwealth Government’s health advice.

Yours sincerely,

General Committee.
