The Men’s Club Championship Finals took place on Sunday 28th August.
There was a big crowd to watch the Club Championship final between the 2020 Club Champion and top seed Joseph Owen and Nick Vogel, who was the 2013 Club Champion and number 5 seed.
To reach the final, Joe defeated Nick Curnow 2up in the Quarter Finals, followed by a 2&1 win against Travis Temm. Meanwhile, Nick defeated Ryan Gault 1up and Rhys Cook (The Lake Cup Winner and Top Qualifier) 5&4.
Joe took a 3up lead into the 18-hole lunchtime break. Nick was up for the afternoon challenge claiming the 19th and 22nd holes, however every time Nick took a hole off Joe, Joe managed to win it straight back.
Congratulations to our 2022 Club Champion, Joseph Owen, who defeated Nick Vogel 6&5. Both should be proud of their efforts, and it was a high quality and entertaining final to watch for the large contingent of members who were at the club.
In the Championship Plate, Mathew Bowra defeated Tim Allison 5&4. Meanwhile in the Seniors Championship, Jules Harris beat Ian Dorrington 1up.
