Girls Division 2 and Division 3 won the pennant this year!!
The final round of junior pennant was held on Sunday with the Girls’ teams playing at Mt Lawley. With both LKCC/Cottesloe teams on top of the ladder going into the final round, both teams needed to have a win to guarantee the top spot.
Division 2 had all very close matches, Lily (Cott) won her match 2&1 to be undefeated for the season, Freya (Cott) halved her match on the 18th, Baoly Doan won 3&1, Isobel Dorrington won 3&1 also undefeated for the season, and Elise (Cott) won 1up on the 18th for the team to win the Pennant!
Division 3 had a clean sweep to also win their Pennant! Martha (Cott) 2&1, Alexandra (Cott) 6&5, Jessie (Cott) 5&4 and Frieda Williams 6&4.
The Girls enjoyed a fantastic season proudly representing their Clubs and going through the season undefeated – both teams having 3 wins and one halved match throughout. Of course, the other Girls in the squad all contributed to the win although they could not all play in the last round – from Cottesloe Lyla Muir, Aaliyah Sarris-Karume and Jess Houghton and from LKCC Nisile Siwale.
This season marks the end of Junior’s for Isobel, Elise and Lily who all turn 18 this year – we wish them all the best in their future golfing careers.
This week the Boys Junior Pennants was held at Mandurah Country Club. Division 1 Boys competed against Joondalup. The contest was well fought only for two of our matches only to be lost on the very last hole. Whilst we lost 4-1, the boys did extremely well and it could have gone either way.
Our Division 2 Boys came up trumps against Mt Lawley with a 3-2 win. A great effort by everyone, especially during times when the match could have been lost.
This concludes the Junior Pennants season for the Boys. It was fantastic to watch them play and compete against leading Juniors in the State.
