Lake Karrinyup hosted the Stirling Bowl on Monday 30th September 2024.
First played for in 1973, the annual event is contested between female members of Lake Karrinyup, Mount Lawley and the Western Australian Golf Club and rotates each year amongst the three clubs. 27 female members from each club play an individual PAR competition, with the best 21 scores counting towards the team’s total score.
Lake Karrinyup & Western Australia Golf Club went into the 51st iteration of the tournament with 18 wins each, followed up by Mount Lawley with 14, but it was Lake Karrinyup that came out on top, securing a 19th win and taking a lead in the overall standings by one.
Conditions were brisk to start the day, but soon warmed up to a perfect 21 degrees with hardly any wind. The perfect weather and great conditions allowed Amanda Lekias and Lina Cui to post a great score of +1 each, second only to WAGC’s Ruth Boehm with a score of +4.
Following golf, all participants enjoyed a lovely two course meal in the Members Bar. They were joined for lunch by the Mayor of Stirling, Cr Mark Irwin who was on hand to present the Stirling Bowl trophy to the winning club.
We are proud to announce that Lake Karrinyup are the winners of the Stirling Bowl for 2024 with a combined score of -57.
