One of the biggest days on the Lake Karrinyup calendar took place on Saturday the 26th of July. The 2025 Karrinyup Cup and Club Dinner was once again well supported with 252 Members competing over the morning and afternoon fields on the Championship Course and 60 Members competing for the North Course Karrinyup Cup on the North Course. 217 members were in attendance for the Club Dinner following golf.

The Karrinyup Cup is one of the most sought-after titles at Lake Karrinyup with Members teeing it up on the Saturday stroke competition desperate to have their name etched on this piece of club history. It is a notable condition of entry that the winner must be pre booked and in attendance at the club dinner.
This year’s event produced an extremely worthy winner in John Pember who fired an excellent score of 76 off a handicap of 10, winning the day by 1 shot with his score of Nett 66. John’s round bettered Hal Mulder’s score of Nett 67, who came outright 2nd.
The North Course event was won by Jon Muir who had a score of Nett 61.

In addition to the excitement of the day’s proceedings was a hole in one on the North Course by Mr Luke Howe.
As is tradition, the day’s golf was followed by the annual Club Dinner. This is a black tie event which is one of the highlights of the year for members – one which many Members plan their holidays around to be present at! It is also a chance to acknowledge past winners of the Karrinyup Cup, Past Presidents of the Club and also those members who have reached the remarkable milestone of 50 years of membership with the club. This year 9 members joined this exclusive club, Mr Bruce Robinson, Mr Rob Kay, Mr Barry Barr & Mr John Ranger were all in attendance at the Club Dinner to accept their 50-year pins & ties. Mr Alex Monteath, Mr John Waddell, Mr Ross Norgard, Mr Roger Lekias & Mr Peter Ahern were apologies for the evening.
The traditional entrance into the dinner is one of the unique features of the night with piper Benji Landau leading the Members from the main bar into the dining room.
The 2025 Karrinyup Cup and Club Dinner was a fitting celebration of tradition, competition, and camaraderie, an event that continues to stand as a cornerstone of the Lake Karrinyup calendar.
