There was a full house last night with members and their guests attending the first guest chef night of 2013. Joined by head chef Ben Day from award winning restaurant and vineyard, Knee Deep Wines in Willyabrup, a delectable four course menu was enjoyed by all attending.
Towards the end of the night, Ben Day joined the room to touch on his time at Knee Deep Wines and what inspired the different choice of dishes for last night’s menu.
Back of house there were all hands on deck to produce the different techniques of cooking displayed in last night’s fantastic food display. Selected by the wineries sommelier were four different wines to accompany each course of the menu, starting with a 2011 Sauvignon Blanc Semillon, moving on to a 2009 Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and finishing with a Late Harvest Sweet Sauvignon Blanc as a dessert wine.
A great evening was enjoyed by all who attended and we look forward to the guest chef night to come throughout the year.
