A Festive Day of Fun at LKCC’s Children’s Christmas Party 2025

On Sunday, 7 December 2025, LKCC came alive with excitement for our Annual Children’s Christmas Party, the Club’s biggest event of the year. We welcomed 240 children and over 340 parents and grandparents, all ready for an afternoon of Christmas cheer, colour, and fun.

From the moment families arrived, the Club was buzzing with energy. Kids hurried to the strongman strength test, balloon artists, and the popular caricaturist, while the animal farm added plenty of furry fun. Train rides, pony rides, face painting, the bouncy castle, wiggle bikes and the ball pit were all big hits again this year. With so much to do, everyone had a great time.

We also had lots of hands-on activities, including sand craft, Christmas tattoos, bubbles, and a bean bag toss. For anyone wanting a quieter moment, there was a cozy reading corner and pavement art. The 9-hole mini golf course, featuring fun sharks and clowns, was a favorite again this year. We owe it all to the creativity and hard work of our grounds team.

We want to sincerely thank everyone who helped make the party happen. We are especially grateful to our volunteers: Paul Larsen, Sandra King, Coralie Saggers, Judy Schrape, and to Garry Kurtz and Phill Grice for being our wonderful gift readers. Special thanks to Mark and Dee Giggins for playing Santa and Mrs Claus, bringing joy to every child who came up for their special moment and gift.

It was great to see our younger helpers join in, too. Thank you to Isla and Elise (Atkinson family), and James and Leo (Atkinson family) for your help and enthusiasm.
Our BBQ team did a fantastic job keeping everyone fed and happy. Thank you to Phil Grice, Steve Maxwell, John Pember, and Garry Kurtz. Thanks also to our organisers and helpers on the day: Maryanne Larsen, Lyn McKeown, and Wendy Naude.

We also want to give special recognition to our Admin Team, Rebecca Bennett and Nadine Loughnane, for their steady support before, during, and after the event. Their help brings everything together.

Along with all the festive fun, we really appreciate the amazing support for our Women’s Charity Day this year. Led by Charity Day Convenor Sheila Klimczyk, with Lyn McKeown and Jane Scott, the day raised an impressive $2,370. These funds will go toward next year’s Charity Day, supporting Spectrum Space, Parkerville, and the Dr. Louisa Alessandri Memorial Fund.

Finally, we want to give special thanks to our Functions Coordinator, Casey Belotti. Her planning, organisation, and coordination made the Christmas magic happen. Lake Karrinyup is lucky to have such a dedicated team, and we thank our Functions, House, Admin and Grounds staff for doing a great job once again.

This year, our chosen charity is Passages, and we sincerely thank everyone who supported our initiative. Passages is a youth engagement hub that provides a safe, welcoming space for young people in our community. We are grateful for the Club’s ongoing kindness and generosity.

It was a wonderful day for everyone, and we look forward to doing it all again next year.
