The Winter Cup was in name only with the field of 59 treated to perfect conditions for golf on Sunday 26th May. The early morning start got the better of some afternoon players with a big spread of scores recorded for the morning round. It was however two afternoon regulars in Roy William and Steve Palframan who shared the clubhouse lead after Round 1 at 2up. After lunch and a few beverages to recharge, players embarked on Round 2 with the highlight being a hole in one on the 12th by one of our Advanced Juniors, Azer Pehlic. The extra nourishment made available in the afternoon only helped Steve as he backed up his morning round with an impressive 3up for a 36 hole total of 5up to take home the major prize. Paul Gilleran was the runner up with 3up. Roy William won the best first round with 2up while Andy Stone recorded the round of the day to win the second round with 4up. Mick Malone took home the Oscar with 19down on a countback from Ian Crockett.
