The Captain’s prize was held on Saturday 8 June with a field of 241 players spread over the 7.45am and 12.30pm shotguns. Conditions were perfect for scoring all day with over a quarter of the field playing to their handicap or better. Leo Ntoumenopoulos started his round in the perfect possible way holing out on the 12th with his first shot of the day!! In the end Paul Hazell backed up his win in the recent Vice Presidents trophy with an impressive 69 off the stick for a Par score of 5up. Junior member Joseph Owen was runner up with 3up, which was an even par round of 72 for him. The majority of players stayed back to fill the bar for presentations and join in the toast to the Captain, entertainingly lead by Past President John Hopkins.
