A split round of home and away matches resulted in a mixture of results for the Lake Karrinyup teams in round 3.
Division 2 travelled Mount Lawley who are back in division 2 for the first time after many years in to top grade. While all matches were competitive it was the home side who came out on top with a 6-3 victory. Brendan Milburn kept his unbeaten run going with a 1up win while Nick Vogel made it back to back wins with a 2/1 result. Fabio Trichilo made his debut for the side in style with a 3/1 victory. The side returns home in round 4 to take on Wanneroo.
The Juniors had an important away win, knocking over Mount Lawley 5 ½ – 1 ½. Ethan Andrews (5/3) made it 3 from 3 at the top of the order with Daniel Moore (5/4), Tip Snowden(3/2), Azer Pehlic(1up) and Clayton Herbst (6/4), in his first match for the club being the other winners. Travis Temm halved his match.
The other divisions all played at home and obviously enjoyed the extra sleep that comes with an afternoon tee time as all teams recorded good wins.
Division 5 recorded their first win for the season with a commanding 6-1 victory over Joondalup. Daniel Howe (7/6), skipper Mitch Bristow (6/5) and Ken Hellsten (5/3) were all in early after comprehensive victories while Stephen Brooke (1up), Kade Harvey (3/2) and Chee Mok (3/2) had to fight a bit harder for their wins.
Division 7 had a tough match against a strong Joondalup side but snuck over the line 4 ½ – 2 ½ after 7 tight matches. Brad Hillary (4/3), Tristan Kirkham (3/1) and Nick Croston (2/1) all recorded wins while Paul Bernhardt, Paul Bannan and Ben Robertson all halved their matches to give the home side another win for the year.
The Division 8 side also had good win at home downing WAGC 4 ½ – 2 ½. Steve Temple (4/3) was again victorious with Andrew O’Neil (5/4), Tony O’Shea (3/2) and Oliver Bradshaw (4/3) joining him in the winners circle. Mark Dawson halved his match.
Round 4 sees a full day of home fixtures with Division 2 and Juniors hosting Wanneroo, Divisions 5 & 7 hosting Lakelands and Division 8 playing The Vines. A reminder that the course will be closed all day but members are encouraged to come out and support our pennant sides.
Best of luck to all sides.
