Meet the Lake Karrinyup “Men of the Trees”. This charitible group of members (approx. 12), headed up by Tim Duncan, work tirelessly throughout the year on the course with periodic tree and shrub planting being undertaken by the “Men of the Trees”.
Members may have noticed the east side of the 16th fairway where earlier this year 400+ eucalypts and native tea trees have been planted. All of these plants had been propagated by Dr John Taylor in the Club’s nursery. Other activities include cleaning up, trimming and generally maintaining the trees/shrubs which assists Trevor and his team a great deal. The Men of the Trees have a busy bee once a month and during the Summer 4 of them water the new non-reticulated plantings.
The Men of the Trees have been particularly busy over the past 3 weeks hedging the grass trees and cutting back Zamia fronds in preparation for the Tournament.
A big thank you to our Men of the Trees for their voluntary assistance.
