(Cygnus atratus)

Length:  120-130 cm Common

It is thought that the same pair of swans returns to the lake to breed each year. Others may be seen from time to time but are expelled when our pair is in residence. Up to six cygnets may hatch but last year only one was seen and even this one may not have reached maturity. Foxes or cats are likely to be the culprits.
